Review from a Transgressive Fiction Fan
Love him or hate him. There is something to say about Mr. Hunter and his writing. I love the mad man of the typewriter. He is such a person truly like no other. I wanted to start with one of his first well known books now i think i will move on to some of his others. Although, I thought that some of the book were a little slow it does all come together very well and it leaves you pondering the strange world that these men live in and why they are all there?

Hated it. Couldn’t even finish it and I was on vacation. Fundamentally not fun to read even though it’s ostensibly about rum and adventure on a tropical island. Had the same spirit of two other books I hated: Catcher in the Rye and On the Road. So if you loved those, you might like this.
